St Pete’s Hyundai plant produces 245,000 cars in 2019
ST. PETERSBURG, Dec 30 (PRIME) -- The car production of Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Rus, the plant of South Korean car maker Hyundai located in the Russian city of St. Petersburg, remained almost flat on the year at 245,000 cars in 2019, Hyundai Motor CIS said in a statement late on December 27.
“In 2019, the assembly line of Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Rus produced 245,000 cars, which exceeded the initial annual production plan by almost 2%...In 2020, Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Rus plans to produce no less than 230,000 cars, continuing its production in three shifts five days a week,” the statement read.
Exports of the cars produced at the plant jumped by 44% on the year to 17,000 vehicles in 2019, with Kazakhstan and Belarus remaining the plant’s key export directions.
In 2018, the car output of Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Rus grew 5.6% on the year to 246,500 vehicles.
